• Our formula was changed slightly to accommodate their strict regulations and registration process.

• We now use 6% Zinc Oxide, 1% Titanium Dioxide and 5% Avobenzone (another type of Neo Heliopan) because of its low toxicity (non-toxic organic compound) to humans and the environment, it's a non-hormone disrupter and the best of filters. EWG (Environmental Working Group) rates Avobenzone as a 2.

• Our product has been tested with the AMA labs for shelf life and SPF result as 33. (*Tested on 10 people and a full broad spectrum test which is compliant with the FDA rules.)

SUNCREENS by definition: Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is known to produce erythema and pigmentation on the skin. When directly exposed to the sun, there is 10 to 100 times more exposure of UVA than UVB. UVB (considered the Burning Ray) has an immediate, harmful impact on the skin within minutes. UVA (considered the Aging Ray), which you do not feel, has been shown to damage the skin by penetration deeply into the dermis able of producing premature aging, wrinkles, and tumors. Sun screens are inactive ingredients that are able, however, to avoid chemically or physically UV radiations (UVA and UVB) to penetrate the skin layers. They provide therefore effective protection from the skin damaging effects of the sun rays. Chemical sunscreens act by absorbing UV-light. Physical sunscreens reflect or scatter light in both the visible and UV-spectrum. Effectiveness of sunscreens depends upon their UV-absorption, concentration, formulation, and ability to withstand swimming or sweating. SUN PROTECTION MEASURES: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early sun aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use sunscreen with broad spectrum protection and an SPF rating of 15 or higher, along with other sun protection measures including: Limit time in the sun, especially between 10 am and 2 pm; wear long sleeve shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses; for children under six months of age, consult a a physician.

On June 14, 2011, U.S. FDA issued new rules for sunscreen products. These present dramatic changes to current regulations and rules by U.S. FDA for suncreen products.

New labeling and testing requirements are effective for all sunscreen products. Many common phrases used on sunscreen products, such as "sunblock," "waterproof," "prevents skin cancer," etc. are no longer permitted by U.S. FDA. In addition, specific testing must be completed for each sunscreen product before other claims about the product's UVA and UVB protection can be made.
